Office Team Discussion

Why DSE assessment matters

Musculoskeletal disorders account for 32% of work-related health issues in the UK. Stress contributes to 46% of work-related conditions. The intersection, sitting at a poorly-set-up workstation under pressure, is where most office-related back, neck, shoulder, and headache complaints originate.

DSE assessments are also a UK employer legal obligation under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992. Most companies meet the letter of the law with a self-assessment form. Doing it properly means a meaningful reduction in sickness absence and a much better experience for employees.

What we assess

Workstation setup

Your desk, chair, screen height, keyboard, mouse, and equipment layout are reviewed to ensure comfort and ergonomic alignment.

Posture

We assess how you sit or stand while working, identifying patterns that may contribute to pain or fatigue.

Daily Habits

Breaks, screen time, movement patterns, hydration, micro-rests

Equipment recommendations

Independent of any vendor, based purely on what the employee actually needs

Risk factors

Repetitive strain, eye strain, lower back risk, upper limb risk

Hybrid setup

For employees who split between office and home, both environments are assessed

What happens after the assessment

After your assessment, you will receive a personalised written report by email outlining clear recommendations tailored to your needs. Guidance and follow up support are available if required.

Frequently Asked Questions

using display screen equipment as a significant part of their work. Most companies meet this with
self-assessment forms; doing it properly with a qualified assessor is meaningfully more useful and
    reduces compensation risk.

  • Yes, virtual assessments work very well, particularly for home and hybrid workers where in-person isn't practical.

  • We assess both setups, office and home. Many employees have the worst musculoskeletal
issues precisely because their home setup hasn't been addressed.

  • Yes, and we're independent. We don't sell equipment; we recommend what's right for the employee, based on their specific needs and constraints.
