Transforming Pressure into Purpose

Many of us grow up thinking there is only one straight path in life. I did everything “right”. I graduated from school with top grades. I completed my bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance with honors. I found a job at an investment company in the City, climbing up the ladder, and eventually ending up at a big tech company. Everything was going according to plan, but none of it felt right. I lacked purpose and meaning, and my demanding job was overshadowing my life.
Riddled with chronic stress, overwhelm, and burnout (while also struggling with ADHD), I knew I needed to make a drastic change when the signs started showing up physically. It was time I started listening to my body. I left 15 years of corporate career behind, packed my bags, and set off to Indonesia to pursue my dream of retraining as a holistic practitioner. I certified in sound healing, breathwork, and somatics - all the ancient modalities that have supported me through my own wellbeing journey over the years. I knew firsthand the power and benefits these practices provided, and wanted to share them with others who were also struggling.

Fast forward to one year later: I set up my practice, Baraka Wellbeing, and have hosted many group sessions as well as bespoke 1:1 and couples’ sessions. I am very excited to be joining Abuelitas Wellbeing as the resident Sound, Breath, and Somatics practitioner to guide individuals towards inner tranquility through holistic offerings. I truly believe that healing is not about reinventing ourselves or living in a constant bubble of bliss and positivity - it is about understanding and fully accepting who we are, embracing both the light and shadows within us, bringing our minds and bodies back into balance and safety to move through life’s ups and downs with strength and grace.
Our bodies store all our emotions, memories, and traumas that can remain suppressed within and impact us mentally, emotionally, and physically. Holistic practices such as breathwork and sound healing can provide a safe and conscious space to process our internal world and release what no longer serves us, aiding our health and wellbeing. I am very passionate about supporting others to find the peace, calm, and clarity our bodies crave, and I look forward to connecting with you all soon!
